Dear colleagues,

TCI Asia Pacific, a regional DPO of persons with psychosocial disabilities, is delighted to participate in COSP 12.  A number of support persons and agencies have helped and assisted us in the registration process, planning a side event, offering opportunities for speaking engagements, and all that follows with respect to COSP.  We thank you for the incredible support and welcome.  We truly realized the spirit and camaraderie of COSP this year.

YeniRosa Damayanti, a lead person of TCI AP, has been invited to speak in UN RT2, on health and social inclusion.  I will be co-chairing UN RT3 on social inclusion through leisure, arts, sports,and cultural participation.

Our side event, supported by DRF, the Australian Government, IDA and CBMA, is on #WhatWENeed- presenting the takeaways from our campaign of the same name of last year.  The side event will present our positioning vis a viz globalizing psychiatry and its institutions.  Further, the side event will make a strong call for our inclusion within Development, more visibility to our inclusion within SWAP initiatives within the UN system, and advocacy for international co-operations, particularly in financing CBID and its pilots to be fully inclusive of persons with psycho-social disabilities.

We are also speaking on a wide range of issues and side events this year, including, Leprosy, CBID, Inclusion of persons with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, When women Lead, social protection, etc.

We are so happy to be at this COSP celebrating the 20th anniversary of IDA, a global organization which has brought visibility worldwide, built capacity on the CRPD and brought a cross disability spirit into the disability universe.
