Dear TCI members,

We are pleased to share with you the latest report from Dr. Dainius Puras, Special Rapporteur of Health, writing on the highest standard of health and mental health. This report, which will be read tomorrow 3rd July 2020 has cited TCI Asia Pacific and our work towards CRPD compliance several times.There is a direct reference to the Bapu Trust Seher program, in the context of CRPD compliant projects around the world. The text also extensively quotes the Bali Declaration of TCI Asia Pacific, and indeed, his entire report echoes with the Bapu Trust/TCI sentiments of "reframing" mental health towards inclusion.  Considering that the report cites very few, if any programs, from the Global South, this citation is an achievement.

TCI Asia Pacific in collaboration with Redesfera Latinoamericana de la Diversidad Psicosocial, the Pan African Network of Persons with Psychosocial Disabilities, the European Network of Users and Survivors of
Psychiatry and the European Disability Forum has also jointly prepared a statement to be read out by the International Disability Alliance at the reading tomorrow. Please find the link to the webcast for tomorrow's reading below:

The panel will be webcasted on the above link, starting from 11.30 am GVA time ish (the ID with SR on Education will be taking place before). The ID with SR will also continue in the afternoon from 3 pm GVA time.
