New International Disability Equity and Rights Strategy – Call for public submissions now open



Dear valued stakeholders,



The new International Development Policy<https://www.dfat.gov.au/publications/development/australias-international-development-policy> commits Australia to advancing the rights of persons with disabilities and prioritising disability equity as core issue for action in our international development program.



To guide this work, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is developing a new International Disability Equity and Rights Strategy.



We are consulting widely to ensure organisations and people from diverse backgrounds and geographic locations – including persons with disabilities and their representative organisations – can contribute to this important new Strategy.



A call for public submissions to inform the Strategy is now open on the DFAT website. This call will close on 15 December 2023.



As a valued stakeholder, we invite you to share your insights and knowledge with us as part of this process.



We would also appreciate you sharing this call for submissions with your networks. Attached are some products to help with outreach to your stakeholders, including suggested social media posts, eNewsletter text, and a proforma email.
