After much consideration, I have decided to withdraw my nomination for Female Co-Chair. I believe it’s more appropriate that a woman from a Pacific Island Country fills this position where they have nominated to do so. I look forward to supporting Villaney in her position as Co-Chair. I would also like to acknowledge the support I received from PDF members to nominate, which I felt very humbled to have received.

Good Monday afternoon from New York. You would have also received my email below to the voting delegates regarding closing of nomination for this year’s Board election.

I have a big request to ask of you hence this email. Will you still consider running for both positions? There are only 3 confirmed and valid candidates for the 3 vacant Board member positions and you are 1 of them. However, you and Villaney are running for the female Co-Chair. Greetings Voting Delegates

After the closing of nominations for the positions of female Co-Chairperson and 3 Board Members on Friday, 08 June 2018 at 5:00pm Fiji time, I wish to provide the following update for your information:


1.       Female Co-Chairperson –

•        Ms. Villaney Remengesau from Omekesang Association in Palau has accepted her nomination and also submitted her completed Candidate Profile form.

•        Ms. Samantha French of PWD Australia has accepted her nomination and submitted her completed nomination form.

•        Ms. Sovaia Coalala of United Blind Persons of Fiji had accepted her nomination and also submitted her Candidate Profile form. However, this nomination was withdrawn today, Monday, 11 June 2018.



2.       Board Members – 3 positions only.

•        Ms Teewata Aromata from Te Toa Matoa in Kiribati has accepted her nomination and also submitted her completed Candidate Profile form

•        Mr Richard Fournier from Collectif Handicap New Caledonia has accepted his nomination and also submitted his completed Candidate Profile form.

•        Ms Samantha French from PWD Australia has accepted her nomination and submitted her completed Candidate Profile form.

•        Mr. Richard Anta of Marshall Islands DPO was nominated and this nomination also seconded. However, Mr Anta did not indicate his acceptance of this nomination and did not submit his completed Candidate Profile form too prior to the closing of nomination.



This is submitted for your information and verification purpose. I will also update you in my next email the next step in our election process.
