Background:

It is estimated that there are between 180 and 220 million youth with disabilities worldwide, of which nearly 80 per cent live in developing countries. They face the same challenges as all young people, including lack of access to education, employment, health and social services. However, for youth with disabilities, these issues are more complex, especially now during the COVID-19 pandemic. Further marginalization and exclusion are triggered by stigma and discrimination, lack information in an accessible format, remote learning, interruption of necessary health services. Other layers of vulnerability are added by factors, such as gender, ethnic minority, emergencies. The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored and exacerbated this marginalization. In this webinar, we'll learn from young disability rights advocates, how they have experienced 'Living in the new normal', how they have been taking care of their mental health during this pandemic and what they need from policymakers going forward.

We look forward to seeing you at the webinar!

Many thanks!

Warmly,

Kami
