[Pdf-women] launch of the Women, Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) Rapid Response Window (RRW)

We are pleased to announce the launch of the WPHF Rapid Response Window (RRW) on women's participation in peace processes and the implementation of peace agreements.



The RRW addresses funding gaps for short-term support for women peacebuilders and women's civil society organizations to influence and participate in peace processes. Its overall objective is to support urgent and strategic initiatives and civil society initiatives for women's influence and meaningful participation at tracks 1 and 2, during all stages of peace processes. The establishment of the RRW was recommended by the UN Secretary General in the October 2019 annual report on women, peace and security.



The WPHF has taken a participatory approach to setting up the RRW through consultations with women peacebuilders and diverse stakeholders and experts. These consultations have ensured that the RRW does not duplicate the work of UN agencies and INGOs but rather fills the funding gap outlined above.



The RRW has two funding streams: (i) Direct Support, where the RRW finances an activity or service directly to ensure access and influence, and (ii) Short-Term Grants for projects that address diverse barriers to women's influence and participation in peace processes and the implementation of peace agreements (currently closed). There is no deadline for proposals, and organizations from all ODA eligible countries may apply.
