Hello!
for the second time ever we are looking for inspiring women with disabilities from around the globe: Her Abilities<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=http%3a%2f%2fwww.her-abilities-award.org&c=E,1,k04Yh3fyjcQv9pS-wFyuEdysxHbBHDDslP8iROKAbVVVCVzdDIahWfFL_A-z8UioyjhZRdHqLDKSdpZS4NCv3zxPh5-C9Pwz8OFTDj2HHHuUOw,,&typo=1> the first global award honouring the achievements of women with disabilities.
Light for the World,<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2fwww.light-for-the-world.org%2f&c=E,1,4xbrY_mnGZ4EKQ5hswqDoHqP461gvkPfqh5Rf9-PfACTpJ_jLLOsESh0zlUFEsgLgdno4nOhdRVNYbkgvRvA5CYnrFANyYP2oe_ae99i7BA,&typo=1> along with Right Livelihood Award winner Yetnebersh Nigussie have launched the award last year to celebrate women with disabilities who achieved greatness in their life or field of work and to shine the spotlight where it is too seldom shone!
To say it in the words of Yetnebersh, with this award we want to inspire the world to "focus on the 99 abilities and not the one disability".
We'd like to encourage all our friends and partners to nominate and spread the word. The nomination process will close on 21st of June 2019.
The jury for the Her Abilities Award is made up of influential women with and without disabilities from different fields of life; from Mariam Doumbia, of blind musical duo Amadou & Mariam, to Judy Heumann, President Obama's first Special Advisor for International Disability Rights.
Together they will decide on the winners in three categories: Health & Education; Rights and Arts, Culture & Sports.
