To achieve inclusion of children with disabilities, IDF and IFRA are hosting a global webinar entitled, “First Step Towards Inclusion: Early Childhood Intervention,” the fifth in our series on “Poverty, Hunger and Disability: The Missing Link.”
Date: 16th May 2023
Time: 14:00 to 15:30 GMT
The focus of this webinar is on showcasing local initiatives on early childhood intervention for children with different disabilities.
The objective of this webinar:
To highlight the importance of early childhood development and preschool education for children with disabilities to get ready for inclusive education through effective community-based practice.
We believe this webinar will be of immense value to practitioners in community health and in community-based rehabilitation. It will enable them to link their work to the global context and to the frameworks being presented.
The webinar will be in English with sign language interpretation (Indian & international), live captioning, Translation in French, Hindi and Spanish.
Community practitioners will present examples of their work from India, Kenya, Peru and Uganda. These examples will showcase local initiatives which contribute to Early Childhood Development and lead to the inclusion of children with disabilities in family and community life.

Indian Forum for Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology (IFRA) is made up of persons with disabilities, their organizations, their family members, CBR practitioners / other service providers, representatives of children, women and older people without disabilities. IFRA is one of the few groups advocating for affordable and quality rehabilitation services and assistive technology for persons with and without disabilities in the community.

A world of resilient, inclusive and empowered communities free from poverty for persons with disabilities and other marginalized populations in need of rehabilitation.
Mission:
To bring about lasting positive change for inclusion in community life for persons with disabilities and marginalized populations needing rehabilitation.
