The Pacific Disability Forum Secretariat would like to provide you with an update on weather updates and activities around our region.

In Samoa:

  *   358 new community cases were identified, taking the total number of cases for Samoa to 11,671 including repatriated passengers.
  *   A total of 88,483 RAT tests have been administered and testing continues at all district hospitals in the country and private General Practitioner clinics.
  *   To date, 92.9% of people in the age group 18 years and above have completed vaccinations; 88.3% for the age group 12 to 17 and 83.5% for the age group 5 to 11.
  *   A total of 74,218 booster doses have been administered.
  *   Cabinet has approved that the country remains at Alert Level 2 for another two weeks from Tuesday midnight, the 17th of May, 2022 to midnight of Tuesday the 31st of May, 2022.
  *   Removal of curfew hours which now allow people greater mobility throughout the whole day.
  *   The referral of airline bookings and all other related airline arrangements to airline companies and travel agents for all travels to and from Samoa beginning on the 22nd of May, 2022
  *   Opening of our national borders to everyone on the 1st of August 2022.
  *   The resumption of Colleges, Post-Secondary Education Training on the 18th of May, 2022, primary schools on the 30th of May and pre-schools on the 4th of July, 2022.

In Vanuatu:

  *   Gina is located 69 km northeast of Port Vila, Vanuatu, and has moved southward at 19 km/h (10 knots) over the past 6 hours.
  *   Heavy rainfalls and flooding over low lying areas and areas close to the river banks including coastal flooding expected over Central and the Southern Islands.
  *   Seas will become rough to very rough with heavy to phenomenal swells over all open coastal waters.

• Le renvoi des réservations aériennes et de tous les autres arrangements aériens connexes aux compagnies aériennes et aux agents de voyage pour tous les voyages à destination et en provenance des Samoa à compter du 22 mai 2022
• Ouverture de nos frontières nationales à tous le 1er août 2022.
• La reprise des Collèges, de la Formation Post-Secondaire le 18 mai 2022, des écoles primaires le 30 mai et des écoles maternelles le 4 juillet 2022.

Au Vanuatu :
• Gina est située à 69 km au nord-est de Port Vila, Vanuatu, et s'est déplacée vers le sud à 19 km/h (10 nœuds) au cours des 6 dernières heures.
• De fortes pluies et des inondations sur les zones basses et les zones proches des rives du fleuve, y compris des inondations côtières attendues sur les îles centrales et méridionales.
• Les mers deviendront agitées à très agitées avec des houles fortes à phénoménales sur toutes les eaux côtières ouvertes.
