It is with deep sorrow that I share the sad news from our member organisation here in Fiji, the Psychiatric Survivors Association of the untimely passing of their President, Mr. Luke Butler Taveta. Again, we have lost yet another leader and champion in our disability movement in the Pacific and we wish his family God’s peace and blessings at this difficult time.

Subject: Our Cherished Colleague, A Treasure of PSA has Passed away

Dear Friends and Families of PSA,

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved President Mr Luke Butler Taveta.

Mr Taveta passed away peacefully in his home in Nadali yesterday at 12.30pm. Mr Taveta was an important member of PSA eversince it was established and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

We are sorry to say that due to the restrictions, Luke’s family have only allowed one representative from PSA(Sera Osborne) to attend his funeral service which is yet to be finalized.

The staff and volunteers of PSA will be visiting Luke’s family on Wednesday 9th June at 3pm to pay our last respect.

My thoughts and prayers are with Luke’s family and any contributions made are highly appreciated. (please contact Kelera/Sera) for arrangement of collections of Contributions)
