Dear Members


Today, we celebrate the ninth Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).

GAAD brings awareness to digital accessibility for those with disabilities.
1 in 7 people in the world has a disability which highlights the importance of digital inclusion.
But what really is accessibility?
Accessibility is about inclusion - making sure everyone, including people with disabilities and those using assistive technologies, can access online information and services. But accessibility is more than just having the ability to access. For many people with access needs, it means connectivity, ease and opportunity.

But how much of this is actually infused within our various sectors, and it would be interesting to know about the levels of ICT inclusiveness across the Pacific.

Glad if you could share experiences from your respective organizations, and how 'Accessibility' is addressed through policies, digital tools and products, work environment and standards, training programmes, awareness, etc. We'd be happy to discuss industry best practices and approaches for the Pacific region.
