Yesterday evening SPC launched a new Pacific Handbook for Gender Equity and Social Inclusion in Coastal Fisheries and Aquaculture was launched at the Heads of Fisheries meeting at the Pacific Community in Noumea.  This Handbook came about through the collaborative efforts of 30 people from 20 organisations around the Pacific, mainly through writing workshops held in 2017 and 2018. Fourteen people authored parts of the Handbook. SPC are aiming to extend the Handbook to some important areas like fisheries management and community engagement not yet covered, and to develop training to accompany the Handbook.
