Subject: "I am a Youth of a Small Island" International Competition: Call for Entries
Dear colleagues,

We're happy to announce that the I am a Youth of a Small Island competition, organized by ECLAC, DESA, ESCAP and other UN partners, has launched. The competition is open until Aug 5, 2019 to youth ages 15-24 to mark the mid-term review of the SAMOA Pathway.
Submissions must reflect the reality of the Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) as a special case for sustainable development.  The interpretation can be from such angles as:  economic, social, cultural, environmental or any combination of these. In keeping with the theme of sustainable development for the SIDS, this interpretation can also take the view of visioning for the future when today’s youth will become adults. The submission must be creative, draw the viewer, keep their attention with originality and innovativeness.
Entries for the contest can be submitted in the form of:  essays, photography, visual arts, video, poetry or musical. One global winner will be selected, together with regional winners from each of the SIDS region (AIMS, Caribbean, Pacific).
