We are 2 days away from the closing date of receipt of nomination from any of you on this wonderful opportunity to recognise and ........


1.          nominate individuals or organisations for the Certificate of Appreciation. According to our Recognition and Awards Programme Policy, "A Certificate of Appreciation will be presented to an organisation or individual who has made significant contribution to the well being, human rights and advancement of persons with disabilities in any Pacific Island country or territory. Nominations for Certificates of Appreciation are submitted by members of the Pacific Disability Forum to the Chief Executive Officer and approved by the Board.


2.       Nominate individual with disability for the Disability Pasifika Award. According to our Recognition and Awards Programme Policy, "the Disability Pasifika Award is the highest award and will be presented to a person with disability from a Pacific Island country or territory by the Co-Chairpersons at the General Forum of the Pacific Disability Forum. Individuals with disabilities (including those who work for the Pacific Disability Forum) may be honoured for their outstanding contribution that has made a difference in the delivery of services to and awareness, protection and recognition of the human rights of persons with disabilities in Pacific Island countries and territories."


This is a friendly reminder to you our Full and Associate Members on this important matter and please do not wait until the final minute to submit your nominations.

New Year greetings to each one of you and our well wishes for a successful, rewarding and outstanding 2019! In preparation for the 6th Pacific Regional Conference on Disability to be held in Nadi, Fiji from 25 February to 01 March 2019, I wish to draw to your attention that the Pacific Disability Forum will be presenting Certificate of Appreciation and Disability Pasifika awards at this regional conference. Having consulted the PDF Board and Awards Committee, I now invite current PDF Full and Associate Members only to:


1.       nominate individuals or organisations for the Certificate of Appreciation. According to our Recognition and Awards Programme Policy, "A Certificate of Appreciation will be presented to an organisation or individual who has made significant contribution to the well being, human rights and advancement of persons with disabilities in any Pacific Island country or territory. Kindly note the following:

1.       You must use the right nomination form attached when nominating individual or organisation for the Certificate of Appreciation or the Disability Pasifika Award. Do take note of the word limit in question 2 and 3 in each nomination form. The Recognition and Awards Programme Policy is also attached for your reference.

2.       all nominations must be sent to the Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Disability Forum on email ceo at pacificdisability.org<mailto:ceo at pacificdisability.org>  or fax +679-3310469 before the closing date for receipt of nominations.

3.       The closing date and time is Friday, 01 February 2019 at 5:00pm Fiji time. Any nomination received after this date and time will be declared invalid.

4.       The decisions of the Board and Awards Committee on recipients of our Certificate of Appreciation and Disability Pasifika Award will be final.
