This is your chance to nominate civil society speakers for the official round tables taking place during the 12th session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in New York.

Overview
The 12th session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will take place from Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 June 2019 at UN Headquarters in New York. On Monday 10 June, a Civil Society CRPD Forum will be held to complement the Conference.

Themes and Sub-Themes
The overarching theme of the Conference is "Ensuring the inclusion of persons with disabilities in a changing world through the implementation of the CRPD". Three round tables will address the following themes:

  *   Technology, digitalization and ICTs for the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities
  *   Social inclusion and the right of the highest attainable standard of health
  *   Inclusion of persons with disabilities in society through participation in cultural life, recreation, leisure and sports
Cross-cutting theme: Awareness-raising. The Bureau decided further to continue the practice of having a cross cutting theme that shall be considered in all 3 roundtables and also in the relevant background papers.

The COSP Bureau has invited civil society, through the Civil Society Coordination Mechanism (CSCM), to nominate four panelists for each of the round tables. These nominations will then be considered by the Bureau. Please note, nominations made to the Bureau do not guarantee participation on the round tables.
