An exciting opportunity now exists for a well-qualified and experienced individual to join the Pacific Disability Forum as its PERU Program Officer As the PERU Program Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with the successful coordination, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of PERU's climate change programme activities and objectives.
The position reports to the PERU Manager and you will be responsible for successfully driving the following critical outcomes for the PERU Unit:
* Effective coordination and management of Phase 1 of PERU agreement
* Maintain an effective programme planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning environment
* Manage stakeholder relationships through advocacy, relevant public relations materials and ensure the visibility and reputation of PERU stakeholders is maintained at a high level at all times domestically, regionally and internationally
* Timely and quality programme reporting though the provision of relevant and accurate information to all stakeholder
* Programme funding allocation and provision of accurate quarterly reports to PERU Manager
* Review of the Disability Inclusive Preparedness for Response (DIPfR) strategy to support the PERU objectives
* Productive stakeholder engagement through networking and strategic communications
* Effective capacity building, peer learning and knowledge exchange opportunities (domestic, regional and international) for stakeholders, particularly the Disability Peoples' Organisations (DPOs) and the researchers.
* You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. A postgraduate Degree in Management, Planning, Policy, Humanities and or Social Science will be an added advantage.
You must possess the following:
* At least a Degree in Humanities/Social Sciences, Disability Studies, and community development or a related field.
* Demonstrated successful management of programmes and policy advocacy at national level and preferably has taken an active role in regional and global settings.
* Proven ability to work on multiple projects on a busy schedule
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
