CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:  CSW 63
The UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office is inviting applications from civil society representatives across the Pacific region who are working on gender equality and the empowerment of women to attend the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women, taking place at the United Nations headquarters in New York from 11-22 March, 2019.

The themes of CSW 63 are:

  *   Priority theme: Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls;
  *   Review theme: Women’s empowerment and the link to sustainable development (agreed conclusions<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=http%3a%2f%2fwww.unwomen.org%2fen%2fcsw%2foutcomes%2360&c=E,1,w2rPP9y7skJ2g94O7Gplnnz-wkLcHuNyM0FI9Qe9RK7mXInEap2DnrhnBfUczJ5Uj7M57nytIeLTcwWd4V8dC-1QC985FlPzi3PuXXjYIxJnNhktpNc,&typo=1> of the sixtieth session);

UN Women supports all aspects of the Commission’s work. The Entity also facilitates the participation of civil society representatives.

Funding to cover the travel and daily allowance for the duration of the meeting is available for a limited number of applicants residing in the following countries:  Cook Islands, Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
The UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office will accept applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

  *   The focus of the applicant’s work is aligned with the priority and/or review themes of CSW63, including but not limited to advocates who work in areas of social inclusion, EVAWG and SRHR.
  *   The applicant can articulate how she/he will utilize the CSW63 experience and outcomes in her/his future work.
  *   The applicant is preferably available for the full duration of the Preparatory meeting.
  *   The applicant resides in a Pacific Small Island Developing State.
  *   The applicant is preferably taking part in a CSW63 side event.

The selection committee will consider diversity of representation from Pacific states, and the need to include women with intersectional representation from marginalised communities.

Successful applicants will be notified by 1 February, 2019 and will need to send a passport copy, copy of bank statement, and completed UN Women Individual Vendor Form by 8 February to initiate travel logistics.
