Dear All,
 Greetings from the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD), Bangladesh!
I am writing you to share that Bangladesh will host the 2nd International Conference on Disability & DRM from May 15 to May 17, 2018. It will be a follow-up conference to the Dhaka Conference 2015, where the outcome document 'Dhaka Declaration - 2015' was adopted. 
The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, 2017,  recognized the importance of the Dhaka Declaration on Disability and Disaster Risk Management as practical guidance for inclusive implementation of the Sendai Framework. Countries were urged to implement the Declaration and report progress on its implementation when reporting progress of the Sendai Framework in 2019. This international conference is being organized by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR), Bangladesh, Government. We are extending technical cooperation from CDD. In the last conference, we had about 450 participants, among them more than 100 were persons with disabilities and 70+ international participants.  This year the conference will continue its focus on Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Dhaka Declaration, DiDRR etc as well as on Inclusive Humanitarian Actions. The main issue will be to look into meaningful participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities in DRR and Humanitarian Actions. We are expecting participants and presenters from the sectors of Disability, Development specifically on DRR and Humanitarian Actions, from a wide range of organizations & institutions from Government, Non-Government, Private sectors, DPOs. There will be presentations on good practices and other issues as per the theme and sub-themes mentioned in the website.  You will be happy to know that the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh will inaugurate the conference on May 15, 2018. The venue of the conference is fully accessible and opening session will have 1,500+ participants.  I wanted to share the information and the link, with the expectation that you, colleagues of your organization, organizations & individuals that you know, might be interested to attend the conference. If interested please do send Abstract (although website mentions 24 March as last date, but please send as soon as possible, as decisions will be made on 8th April) and complete registration soon not later than April 25, 2018. If you visit conference website you will get 16 sub-themes for submission of the Abstract.
