first woman president.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Helvetica Neue";color:#333333">Sahle-Work Zewde replaced Dr. Mulatu Teshome who announced his resignation the same day as the country’s head of state at the joint special session of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) and the
House of Federation (HoF).<o:p></o:p></span></p>

the constitution proclaimed in 1995.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
