From Humanitarian Advisory Group:
We are excited to invite you to join us for an interactive learning forum on 25 November. This is a unique opportunity to share learnings and develop new ideas to advance the integration of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction and build community resilience in the Pacific.
We will have seen what has (or hasn’t) been agreed at COP26 so this will be a critical time to bring together practitioners and technical experts to discuss findings of ongoing research initiatives in the integration space. We will hear from a number of different speakers, including representatives from Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat to link the discussion with regional priorities and needs.
The forum has been designed to bring together key actors and leverage the many complementary initiatives working towards a similar goal – a more resilient Pacific community.
This learning forum is a part of ongoing Humanitarian Advisory Group and World Vision research into integrated community programming<https://humanitarianadvisorygroup.org/insight/beyond-barriers-integrating-disaster-risk-reduction-and-climate-change-adaptation-in-the-pacific/> in the Pacific. Through this event, we are seeking to:
- Identify key themes and linkages between different initiatives and regional priorities
- Brainstorm ‘out of the box’ ideas to advance the agenda in new ways
- Propose opportunities for collective impact
- Build a community of practice for ongoing dialogue and collaboration
The outcomes from this event will serve as a springboard for future initiatives, ensuring that all the important work being done currently will inform and strengthen future efforts. We invite you to provide your expertise and influence this exciting future-focussed initiative.
The forum will be held on 25 November, from 9:00 – 14:00 AEDT, online via zoom. Please register your interest via Humanitix here<https://events.humanitix.com/disaster-risk-reduction-and-climate-change-in-the-pacific-learning-workshop>.
Please share this invite within your networks. We look forward to seeing you there!
Best,
HAG and World Vision research team

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which I work, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to their elders past, present and future, and to all Indigenous people who continue to fight for sovereignty.
