Beautiful good morning ladies,
This Thursday 28th May will be celebrated around the world as MHM Day. WaterAid and Marie Stopes International Australia have put together a regional webinar Galvanising Menstrual Health Action in Asia Pacific.
Please click on the link below to register for this Global Menstrual Hygiene day for an interactive webinar with local actors from across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
In the registration for the regional webinar there is a question about accessibility, so if people need captions / sign or anything else to participate the organisers can know in advance and organise. The webinar is at 10-11am AEST and Fiji local time is 12-1pm.

In the Pacific region, transformative approaches are needed to tackle the barriers to menstrual health and hygiene which can lead to restrictive social and cultural experiences for young people and adults. The COVID-19 pandemic has likely exacerbated menstrual health challenges for Pacific women and girls, particularly where there is poor WASH, strained health systems, or restricted movement. This webinar seeks to highlight examples of menstrual health programming from across the Pacific region (including PNG and Timor-Leste) by sharing examples of programming, lessons learned, and tools from SRHR and WASH actors. This webinar will link with a regional campaign about menstrual health in the Pacific.
Speakers we will hear from:
Chelsea Huggett (Technical Lead Equality and Inclusion, WaterAid) will moderate a discussion exploring action on menstrual health in the region. The following guest speakers will share 5 minute presentations of their work.
Silvina Amaral Mendonca, Youth Ambassador Marie Stopes Timor-Leste
Lua Rikis, WaterAid Papua New Guinea
Mary Elizabeth Ramosaea, Founder of Kaleko Steifree in Solomon Islands
Naomi Navoce, Program Officer (Gender), Pacific Disability Forum
A facilitated discussion will take place and participants are invited to ask questions and share experiences.
Have a blessed day.
Maria Miller
