CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:  CSW 64

The UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office is inviting applications from civil society representatives across the Pacific region who are working on gender equality and the empowerment of women to attend the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, taking place at the United Nations headquarters in New York from 9-20 March, 2020.

Themes

The review will include an assessment of current challenges that affect the implementation of the Platform for Action and the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women and its contribution towards the full realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

UN Women supports all aspects of the Commission's work. The Entity also facilitates the participation of civil society representatives.

Funding to cover the travel and daily allowance for the duration of the meeting is available for a limited number of applicants residing in the following countries:  Cook Islands, Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

The UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office will accept applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

  *   The focus of the applicant's work is aligned with the Beijing Platform for Action critical areas of concern.
  *   The applicant can articulate how she/he will utilize the CSW64 experience and outcomes in her/his future work.
  *   The applicant is available for the full duration of the meeting.
  *   The applicant resides in a Pacific Small Island Developing State.
  *   The applicant is preferably taking part in a CSW64 side event.
  *   The applicant is willing to submit a short report on their participation.

The selection committee will consider diversity of representation from Pacific states, and the need to include women with intersectional representation from marginalised communities.

  *   Curriculum Vitae
  *   Copy of biopage of passport
  *   Completed and signed Individual Vendor form (attached)
  *   Copy of bank statement or bank letter confirming account details
  *   Completed and signed Legal Waiver form (attached)
