Dear colleagues,

I am writing to share very exciting news! Two weeks ago kNOwVAWdata launched a new website<http://asiapacific.unfpa.org/knowvawdata>, filling a critical gap in the Asia-Pacific gender data landscape.

Our new website is the first of its kind in the region. It includes interactive data visualizations on violence against women prevalence at the national level in Asia and the Pacific--visualizations that do not exist at this scale elsewhere. It also serves as a one-stop shop for governments, policymakers, practitioners, academic institutions and civil society organisations to learn about best practices for measuring, analysing and using national VAW prevalence data.

Having reliable and comparable data on the national prevalence of violence against women is key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals; our aim is that this website will bring us all one step closer towards accomplishing the SDGs.

kNOwVAWdata works to sustainably strengthen regional and national capacities to measure the prevalence of violence against women in Asia and the Pacific.

Under the partnership of UNFPA Asia and the Pacific Regional Office, the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the University of Melbourne and ANROWS, kNOwVAWdata improves the availability and quality of data to inform more effective policy and programme responses to prevent and end violence against women.
