Dear *Major Groups and Other Stakeholder* colleagues,



The UNDESA Division for Sustainable Development Goals, in partnership with
UN-ESCAP and UNDP-Pacific are organizing a Sustainable Development Goals
(2030 Agenda) and Voluntary National Review (VNR) Capacity Building
Workshop for *Pacific Small Islands Developing States* (PSIDS) from *24 –
27 September 2018*, in Fiji.



Building on this positive political momentum and in order to explore ways
to create more opportunities for meaningful engagement by all stakeholders,
a *Sub-Regional Capacity Development Workshop for relevant stakeholders in
the Pacific Small Islands Developing States*, will also be held on *28
September 2018. *By organizing the stakeholders capacity building workshop
back-to-back with other relevant sub-regional meetings, this activity will
benefit from intergovernmental discussions as well as maximize the use of
available resources, expanding the reach and diversity of participants. An
initial draft concept note and agenda for the stakeholders workshop follows
attached for your information.



We would like to invite interested major groups and stakeholders
representatives based in *Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Papua New
Guinea, Tonga, Vanuatu, Samoa, Cook Island, Niue, Nauru, Kiribati, Palau,
Solomon Islands, Tuvalu *and* Marshall Islands*  to register their interest
in attending the week-long of sub-regional events (see calendar below) by

Please, note:

   - Participants as expected to demonstrate a clear leadership engagement
   on the implementation and follow up of the 2030 Agenda at national and
   sub-regional level, including on Voluntary National Reviews.
   - Funding will be made available for at least *one* MGoS representative
   from each of the countries listed above to attend.
   - Only MGoS representatives based on the countries mentioned above will
   be considered.
   - Decision on funded participants will be made by the UN entities
   leading the organization of the workshop.
