This is VERY last minute, but I also wanted to flag that the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities is vacant and the deadline for applications is tomorrow (30 July).

I’m not sure if you have already circulated this information to your network, but just in case, I have attached the application form and the resolution for the mandate of the SR.

It would be great to have someone from the Pacific.

As discussed, please find the due dates for CRPD reports by States parties in the Pacific.

Cook Islands:      combined 2nd and 3rd reports due on 8 June 2019 (not submitted yet)
FSM:                      initial report due on 6 January 2019 (not submitted yet)
Fiji:                         initial report due on 7 July 2019 (not submitted yet)
Kiribati:                initial report due on 27 October 2015, submitted on 12 February 2019 (review by CRPD to be scheduled)
Nauru:                  initial report due on 27 July 2014 (not submitted yet)
New Zealand:    combined 2nd and 3rd reports due on 9 March 2019, submitted on 8 Marc 2019 (review by CRPD to be scheduled)
Palau:                    initial report due on 11 July; submitted on 2 February 2018 (review by CRPD to be scheduled)
PNG:                      initial report due on 26 October 2016 (not submitted yet)
RMI:                       initial report submitted on 22 August 2019 (review to be scheduled)
Samoa:                 initial report due on 1 January 2019 (not submitted yet)

  *   Kiribati – the review was already held in January this year but the outcome document of the UPR Working Group will be officially adopted by the Human Rights Council during the next session (14 September – 6 October)

·         Marshall Islands  - the review is scheduled to take place on 9 November, 14:30 – 18:00 Geneva time (will be broadcast live at: http://webtv.un.org/)

·         Australia, FSM and Nauru – review scheduled to take place in January/February 2021 (dates TBC)

·         Palau and the Solomon Islands – review scheduled to take place in April/May 2021 (thus NGO reports would need to be submitted around October/November this year, exact dates TBC)

·         Samoa and Palau– July 2021 (dates TBC).
