 With reference to the
 subject of this email, and after consulting our election
 Scrutineer, Ms. Rose Wilkinson and the PDF Board yesterday,
 I wish to draw to your attention that I received only 3
 valid nominations for the 4 vacant Board
  positions by close of nominations last Friday, 09 June 2017
 at 5:00pm Fiji time. These valid nominations were for: 
 1.      
 Ms. Tewai Halatau –Vision Pacific Charitable
 Trust, New Zealand. 
 2.      
 Ms. Ipul Powaseu, Papua New Guinea Assembly of
 Persons with Disabilities. 
 3.      
 Ms Sovaia Coalala – United Blind Persons of
 Fiji 
 These 3 nominations
 were valid as the nominated candidate was seconded by
 another voting delegate)s), they accepted these nominations
 and provided their candidate profile.

 The following
 nominations for Board Member positions were also received
 during the nomination period but deemed invalid as the
 candidate were either not seconded by another voting
 delegate or indicate their acceptance/rejection of
  their nominations or submit their completed candidate
 profile before the closing date/time for nominations: 

 1.      
 Mr. Josko Waqaniyasi, Fiji Disabled Peoples
 Federation 

 2.      
 Mr. Timote Solo – Tonga National Disability
 Congress 

 3.      
 Mr. Simon Dolaiaono – People with
 Disabilities Solomon Islands 

 As for the male Co-Chair
 position, there was only one nomination; Mr. Kyle Miers from
 Deaf Australia. However, he didn’t accept his nomination
 before nomination deadline and therefore this nomination has
 been declared invalid too. I learned
  from Mr Kyle Miers yesterday that he didn’t receive this
 particular email as it had his old email address which
 should not have been used. We have rectified this matter in
 this particular email group/list. 

 AS we were not able to
 fill all vacant Board positions by end of nomination period
 last Friday, the Board has approved a one-week extension to
 the call for nominations which will now end on this coming
 Friday, 16 June 2017 at 5:00pm Fiji
  time.  

 PLEASE NOTE that this
 extended call for nominations will only be for 1 remaining
 Board position and male Co-Chairperson position. 

 To assist you in
 determining as to who is available for nomination for these
 2 positions from the current voting delegates in this email
 group/list, it might be helpful for me to share that Ms.
 Sovaia Coalala from Fiji, Ms. Tewai Halatau
  from New Zealand and Ms. Ipul Powaseu from Papua New Guinea
 are most likely to be members of the new PDF Board after
 this election period along with Mr. Kyle Miers from
 Australia, Mr. Richard Fournier from New Caledonia, Ms.
 Faaolo Utumapu-Utailesolo from
  Samoa and female Co-Chairperson Ms. Nelly Caleb from
 Vanuatu who are continuing members of the Board. 

 THEREFORE, THE CALL FOR
 NOMINATIONS FOR 1 BOARD MEMBER POSITION AND MALE
 CO-CHAIRPERSON IS NOW OPEN! DO TAKE NOTE OF THE DEADLINE
 THIS FRIDAY, 16 JUNE 2017 AT 5:00PM FIJI TIME.

 And if you are nominated
 by a voting delegate, and this nomination is seconded by
 another voting delegate, do make sure you indicate to all
 voting delegates in this email group/list that you accept
 this nomination and complete the attached
  candidate profile form and send it to me as Returning
 Officer on this same email group/list.
