 21, 2019</span></a> - </span><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Open Sans",sans-serif">The Helen Suzman Foundation called it “a cynical move to curry favour with traditional leaders.” Two months before the May 2019 elections, the ANC-led Parliament
 passed – for the 3rd time – the Traditional Courts Bill that would allow chiefs of the former apartheid-established “homelands” to have legislative, executive and judicial powers all rolled into one. The women’s and human rights movements have previously blocked
 this bill at the stage of Provincial Consultations. Now they have to do the work again. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
