Youth and online gender-based violence: Challenges and solutions

With less than 7 years left for all governments in the Asia Pacific region to deliver on the promise of gender equality by 2030 - as part of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development - it is important to accelerate progress on addressing and eventually ending all forms of violence against women and girls - including online violence.

In an era where digital footprints define our existence, online gender-based violence (OGBV) and Technology Facilitated OGBV (TFGBV) cast a long, oppressive shadow on the freedom and safety of women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals.

It is more than a personal struggle; it is a societal battle that widens the gender digital divide and threatens our collective march towards a just, equitable world. Discussants include contributors of the latest UN Women toolkit on "Youth Guide To End Online Gender-Based Violence<http://unwomen.org/en/digital-library/publications/2023/12/youth-guide-to-end-online-gender-based-violence>". This toolkit is an actionable learning and knowledge product developed by the 30 for 2030 Network, a youth and civil society leadership cohort in the Asia-Pacific region supported by UN Women.
