Please find below an exciting opportunity to be trained on documentary storytelling by our partner The Disability Justice Project. Places are up to 5 so please take time to carefully review and fill in your application. 
 
  
 
The Disability Justice Project (DJP) is inviting persons with disabilities from organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) that are current DRF/DRAF grantees to apply for atwo-week workshop on documentary storytelling. The workshop will be held in Samoa, and travel costs, including hotel, meals, and airfare, will be paid for by the DJP. The DJP also will cover reasonable accommodations like sign language interpretation and will focus on the intersection of climate change and disability among other topics. It will take place the last week of June and the first week of July 2023.

Successful applicants will receive a stipend of 500 U.S. dollars for participating and a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Storytelling kits, including video cameras, tripods, and mics, will be given to participating fellows to use during the workshop and will become the property of the sponsoring OPD after the workshop. The media created will be published on theDJP website - the first platform of its kind dedicated to the global disability justice movement. The attached application can be filled out as a downloadable Word document. Please note that it must be filled out jointly by the potential fellow and their sponsoring OPD. Since only five fellows will be chosen, we encourage you to spend some time on the application. Once complete, you can send it to jsantos at disabilityjusticeproject.org. 
 
  
 
Previous fellows have produced documentaries on everything from thehigh unemployment rates among Ugandans with disabilities to thefirst DeafBlind student accepted at a prestigious school in Malawi.
