Warm Greetings from the FAO Subregional Office for the Pacific,


A few months from now, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations<https://www.fao.org/home/en> will host a regional agrifood accelerator in the Pacific region, Maldives and Timor-Leste. The Agrifood accelerator 2022 aims to support and scale up existing agrifood  businesses and startups in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).



In line with this, FAO is requesting your support by sharing this initiative within your network. We hope to reach out to as many local agrifood champions, communities and innovators who could benefit from this opportunity. Who can apply

The Agrifood accelerator 2022 is open to  businesses, startups, and local innovators from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Maldives, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Timor-Leste, Tuvalu and Vanuatu who are looking to improve and scale up their innovative agrifood solutions in the agrifood industry that helps any of the following key areas:

  *   Better production: ensures sustainable consumption and production patterns
  *   Better nutrition: end hunger, achieve food security, and improve nutrition
  *   Better environment: protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial and marine ecosystems
  *   Better life: promote inclusive economic growth by reducing inequalities

The 16 teams selected to join the  Agrifood accelerator 2022 will receive the following benefits:

  *   Chance to be flown to the in-person training in Apia, Samoa
  *   Receive hands-on mentoring and coaching from innovation experts
  *   Networking opportunities to help you broaden your reach
