Greetings all,

We write to seek your assistance through participating in the PDF Sendai Framework Mid Term Review Survey.

This Survey will be exploring the challenges, lessons, and achievements of disability inclusion within disaster risk reduction (DRR) efforts throughout the Pacific since the Sendai Framework was adopted in 2015.


Two articles within the UNCRPD refer to persons with disabilities during a disaster

  1.  Article 11 of the UNCRPD makes specific reference to addressing the needs, safety and protection of persons with disabilities in situations of risk and humanitarian emergency and
  2.  Article 32 requires international cooperation including disaster relief, emergency response and disaster risk reduction programs.

The Pacific Disability Forum seeks to explore how these Articles have influenced the implementation of the Sendai Framework throughout the Pacific.

Survey

This survey will inform a larger report that PDF will produce in collaboration with UNDRR for consideration at the High-Level Meeting (HLM) on the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (MTR SF). To convene in New York on 18 and 19 May 2023.
