Greetings to all,

As we draw nearer to the date for International Day for Persons with Disabilities, I am seeking your help in ensuring that our work is highlighted.

We will be having a meeting with major stakeholders in Fiji and will be linking in virtually to all our OPDs around the region. As such, I seek to have pictures from the field so that they will be aware of the work we are all tirelessly undertaking in our various countries and territories.

PDF will be showcasing our regional spirit through video, slide shows and post cards.

I would like to thank you all for your participation in the four Regional Dialogue Sessions that we have had over the past two weeks.
It has been an eventful and a great learning experience for myself as Communications Officer and to also hear the stories of progress and inclusion as well as the struggles we are all facing in our move towards an inclusive society.

In saying that, it would be my great honour to feature some of your quotes and even stories as part of the 2021 International Day for Persons with Disabilities. The theme is “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.”

I seek your help in sharing some of your stories and stories to show the great work being undertaken in country. You can do this by:

  1.  Sending 2 pictures of the OPD staff carrying out awareness, advocacy or even in the office. Please send through their names and details for the picture.
  2.  A short paragraph or even a quote on the work being done post COVID-19
