ADB announced a $20M assistance package to the Solomons recently
ADB yesterday disbursed $20 million—comprising a $10 million grant and a $10 million concessional loan—to help train nurses and doctors in Solomon Islands to fight COVID-19 and obtain personal protective equipment for medical staff. It will also help finance the government’s economic stimulus to support individuals and businesses.
I wonder if any consideration was given to providing training digitally for health workers and if there was any considering of rapidly extending GovNet to all health clinics. As I understand it, GovNet is run by the Ministry of Finance, so hopefully, such things were included.
